Week One

When I had the thought to start this gaming blog, my intention was to write about the games I was playing each week. I didn’t really want to start with a game I’m in the middle of (because, honestly, there are a lot of games I have yet to finish), but I haven’t had a chance to start anything new this week and I still wanted to post something. SO, without further ado, here is my first post! Please excuse any formatting issues, I’m still trying to figure out how to use WordPress.

This week’s game: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Current Stats:

  • Character: Kassandra
  • Character Level: 42
  • Session Time: 1.5 hours
  • Total Hours Played: 73+
  • System: PlayStation 4

I spent the majority of this play through trying to reveal more of the map and doing some side quests (mostly the timed ones that pop up from time to time on the map). I didn’t do any of the main story line on this play through, but I did stumble across a quest with Kassandra’s old friend Anais while I was revealing parts of the map in Arkadia. This mission (called “Where We Left Off”) is part of the Lost Tales of Greece.

There is an option to play this quest with a romantic angle, but I chose to play it as friends. The quest starts simply enough: Anais finds out Kassandra is in the area and sends her a letter asking her to visit. When she does, she gets nostalgic and wants to play hide and seek with her like when they were kids. Finding her is relatively easy; guess her hiding skills are a little rusty. When Kassandra finds her, she says she wants to ride to the beach and talk like they did in the “old days.”

I followed Anais to the beach where she then asked if Kassandra could still hold her breath. This prompts the next mission, which is to dive into the ocean, fight off a couple of sharks, and obtain a shell for her. Whether you choose to have Kassandra flirt with her or not, this prompts her to start crying and tell her that she’s married. The mission ends with her asking Kassandra to meet her back at her house.

Upon meeting Anais back at her house and speaking with her, another quest (“Runaway”) begins. Anais tells Kassandra that her husband has died and that her son, Arion, has run off (I’m assuming that more time is supposed to have passed between this quest and the last, but whatever). She tells Kassandra that he’s probably at this cave with wolves that he and his father used to visit together. She asks her not to kill the wolves as it would break Arion’s heart.

Upon arriving at the cave, the wolves did not immediately attack me, so I chose to leave them alone. I found Arion and convinced him to go back home to his mother. Next there was an escort mission (which I loathe), but it wasn’t too bad as we were only attacked by one or two animals along the way. Once I delivered him home, Anais thanks Kassandra and the quest ends.

This is where I ended my play through, so that’s all for this week! I’m planning on at least trying to start a new game sometime this weekend (if time permits), so be on the look out for that. I’m still deciding on the game, but it will probably be Life is Strange 2.

Thanks for reading, if you did. Take care, and please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments.
